Chisholm Academy Takes Part in Mock Student Vote Canada Election 2025

Chisholm Academy’s Grade 7-12 students recently explored Canada’s Federal Election process. They learned what parties were running and what they stood for. This provided them with the opportunity to practice being an active citizen and to see what elections are all about.
On Monday, April 28th, as part of Student Vote Canada, students at our school cast a ballot for the real candidates running in our local area. And just like in a real election, they received a ballot, marked their choice, and placed it in the ballot box, thereby experiencing democracy in action!
Nearly a million students across Canada took part in this parallel election, to experience being part of the democratic process!
All Chisholm Academy student ballots were then counted, and our results were shared with Elections Canada, to be included in their Canada Wide Student Vote Results.
Thank you to all our students for participating in this event, to Ms. Laube’s Gr12 Leadership Class for administering our Student Vote Election, and to Mr. Tollefsrud’s Grade 11 students for assisting with the counting process.
Mrs. Moyssakos, Chisholm Academy Principal
