Movie Club Outing: The Wild Robot

It was love at first byte! The movie character Roz, a self-learning robot who plays a maternal role in a threatened forest ecosystem, captured the hearts of Chisholm Academy students and staff on their first Movie Club outing of the year to watch “The Wild Robot“. On October 15, 2024, twenty-nine Chisholm students, led by Mrs. Chambers, Mrs. Moss, Ms. Edmonds and Mr. Tollefsrud, went by bus to film.ca in Oakville to enjoy this thought-provoking tale about the complicated interface between humans and computers. Tears were definitely flowing among many movie-goers as Roz, along with her closest friends Brightbill, a baby (later adult) goose and Fink, a friendly fox, navigate numerous climatic and corporate threats. Students enjoyed social time and popcorn on this morning outing, returning in time for lunch. Thanks to bus driver Phil for providing safe transportation.
