Grade 10-12 New York City Trip

Chisholm Academy’s Grade 10-12 students had the opportunity to participate in an end of year excursion to New York City from May 13-17, 2024!  Students got the chance to explore Times Square, the Rockefeller Center, 5th Avenue, and the shops in those areas.  The group  participated in a Lower Manhattan Tour and visited the 9/11 Memorial.  They enjoyed watching a New York Mets Game, and took a ferry ride to Liberty and Ellis Islands to see the Statue of Liberty up close!  Afterwards, they enjoyed a behind the scenes tour of Radio City Music Hall.  They toured the Museum of Modern Art, and experienced a flight simulation ride soaring over the sights of NYC at Visit RiseNY!  A trip to NYC wouldn’t be complete without a dinner at Gayle’s Broadway Rose, where our group were waited on through dinner by aspiring NYC singing actors and actresses!  They even visited Top of the Rock, where they witnessed amazing views of NYC from the observation deck on the 70th floor of the Rockefeller Plaza.

During their final days, our NYC group explored New York City’s architecture, biodiversity and trendy neighborhoods while exploring the High Line, Chelsea and Central Park.  They finished off the trip with a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe, and a Theatre Performance of Back to the Future, on Broadway. 

Overall, this was a wonderful opportunity for our students to travel to one of the world’s most exciting cities and build special memories with their peers!
