History Takes Flight!

On Tuesday, November 2, fourteen Chisholm students and three staff members enjoyed an exciting day among World War Two and later-era military aircraft at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Mount Hope (Hamilton Airport). Against the stunning backdrop of aircraft such as the Avro Lancaster heavy bomber and the Douglas C-47 Dakota, the Grade 10 students engaged in hands-on learning activities such as how to attach sheet metal to an aircraft frame using Cleco rivets, how to decode secret messages and how to defend London in a Battle of Britain simulation. Inspirational guides Tim and Hillary ensured that students and staff experienced a memorable visit bringing our past aviation history to life.
