Orange Shirt Day

On September 29, 2021, our entire school wore orange shirts on Orange Shirt Day to honour, remember the experiences and losses of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis children who were stolen from their families and were brought to residential schools. The entire school watched a presentation about the Indigenous people’s feelings and how to take action made by the Equity Club, student council, and the Grade 11/12 drama class.  After, students were paired up in each classroom and made collages of all the First Nations groups about their cultures/languages. Then, the collages of the different First Nations groups in Canada were put together to make a huge collage to put up in our school.
