Plants in Grade 9 Geography

The Grade 9 Geography class has focused on learning about sustainable living and helping to make big and small impacts in our communities and the world. One of the reoccurring themes was making independent contributions to changes in our lives.

We decided to add something to our daily routine that would teach us how to care for others, work on lowering consumption, and remind us of our responsibility as global citizens.

In March, we began by planting seeds that with time, care, and a good amount of sunlight led us to see the fruits (or herbs) of our labour!

I’d like to introduce you to some of the student’s flourishing basil plants! The students not only kept their promise to care for the plants but through this small act, they promise to care for our shared planet.
