Sky-blue hope and funds raised for The Bahamas

Chisholm Academy students and staff dressed in symbolic blue on February 19 to raise critically needed funds to assist the hurricane-devastated Bahamas. In early September, Hurricane Dorian delivered record-breaking winds, tides and flooding, killing at least 70 people, with nearly 300 missing and tens of thousands made homeless.

Organizer and native Bahamian Brandon R. was gracious and emotional in thanking his fellow students and teachers for raising $575. Chisholm matched the amount to double the total to $1150. Funds raised were donated to the Bahamian Red Cross Organization.

“Thank you for your donations, as they will not go unappreciated and will play a big role in the reconstruction of a beautiful country,” he said.

Brandon co-created a colourful Slides presentation with fellow Grade-12 students Dylan D., Murad S. and Omar C.
