Winter Arts Night 2019

MUSIC CLUB

What a great performance!  Students showcased their guitar-strumming, drum-drumming, and song-singing at the annual Winter Arts Showcase. After practicing together for only a couple of months, the lunch-time Music Club rocked the house with their own renditions of “Christmas Time”, “The Hockey Song”, and “Step into Christmas”. As well as the group performances, Josh K., Dylan D., and Michael T. played a “Dire Straits” favourite, “Sultans of Swing.”

DRAMA CLUB

On Thursday, December 12th, 2019, Chisholm Academy’s Drama Club took the stage to perform the hilarious and touching, “Rest In Peace” by Pat Cook.  The cast of Sam, Josh, Brady, Rachel, Kaitlyn, Izabel and Jackson, worked tremendously hard over the past three months, with countless rehearsals and unwavering dedication. Each time I see these seven students perform, I am in awe of their ability to make me laugh and cry time and time again. I could not be more proud of what they have done with this beautiful show.

Look for another performance of “Rest In Peace” when the Drama Club takes this show on the road to perform at the National Theatre School Drama Festival hosted by Burlington Central High School in early March 2020!

Thank you to Chisholm parents, staff and students for making this semester of Drama Club an amazing success.  We appreciate it so very much.

ART PRESENTATION

On Thursday, November 12, a number of selected students enrolled in Grade 7, 10 and grade 11 Visual Arts were delighted to have their artwork on display at the back of the theatre during our Chisholm Arts Nights. During intermission, students and guests were invited to enjoy viewing some very refined pieces which exhibited our Chisholm students’ skills with watercolour and graphite pencil shading. Compliments were shared and students felt encouraged to continue to hone their artistic skills.
