ME to WE Motivational Speaker

On Tuesday, February 5, just as Chisholm was getting into the Semester 2 groove, we welcomed ME to WE Motivational Speaker, Mark Quattrochi, to host a school assembly. Mark is a teacher-turned- motivational speaker and one of few people to cycle around the world!

He came to Chisholm ready to inspire students with his own journey and triumphs whilst sharing the stories of many youth who have made a difference in a number of ways both locally and globally. Mark shared gorgeous pictures and encounters from different global destinations that he experienced by way of his bicycle. He relayed the important message of turning passion into action in order to create a wave of change – and that this can truly apply to absolutely anything!

After the whole-school assembly, about 20 students broke out into a workshop session in order to set a specific target and action plan. Students in the ME to WE Club, the Dynamics of Human Relationships and Leadership courses joined together to get to know each other’s passions with regards to global issues. We decided to target the issue of WE Walk for Water scheduled for May 8. Did you know that $25 can provide clean drinking water for one person for life? The students took responsibility of planning the various facets of a charity event through setting a SMART goal. They then broke out into smaller groups and planned the specifics: announcements, cost, time, involvement and so on. Students felt invigorated and ready to tackle some important issues in order start a ripple effect.

Thank you Mark and Maxine from ME to WE!

We can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish during the rest of the 2019 school year.
