Congratulations Class of 2018: Chisholm Academy Celebrates Graduation
Donning caps and gowns, the class of 2018 processed into the ballroom at Othello’s Banquet Hall to celebrate years of hard work. The audience was packed with proud parents, family members, friends, teachers and fellow students who cheered on the graduates as they accepted their awards and diplomas.
Awards for academic excellence, athletics, arts and service were given out to deserving students who have made an impact here at Chisholm and throughout the wider community. Grade 12 graduates earned their high school diplomas as they take their next steps towards post-secondary school. Ontario Scholars were also recognized, with seven Chisholm students achieving this prestigious status. The grade 8 graduates were given their middle school diplomas as they begin their high school careers in the fall.
Both the grade 12 valedictorian, Miles and the grade 8 valedictorian, Ian, captured the memories from their time at Chisholm with grace and humour.
The celebrations continued in the evening as families and staff gathered for dinner. During the meal, guests enjoyed a year end slideshow marking all of the incredible events which took place at Chisholm. A great performance by improvisational specialist, Nancy Watt, who talked about how the rules of improv can be applied to life before bringing some of the students on stage to try some improv games. Finally, everyone enjoyed the “Guess the Grad” baby slideshow, illustrating how the students have grown over the years. The night ended with many hugs, as the graduates and staff wished each other well.
Good luck and congratulations to the class of 2018! You have made Chisholm Academy proud!
