2016 Intramural Flag Football – Fall Season

Fall 2016 saw the introduction of a new Intramural Sport at Chisholm – Flag Football. The season started in October with pickup games on Tuesday and Thursday There was a buzz in the backyard at lunch. It ended up being the best intramural program we have ever had at Chisholm.

In November, the Championship tournament was held. In the semi-finals, Team 1 led by Miss Edmonds defeated Team 3 28-14 by playing flawless football.  In Semi-final number 2, an instant classic, Team 2 upset Team 3 28-21 with Rupert V scoring the winning touchdown. Jackson M had 2 interceptions and “took one to the house”.

The final between Team 1 and Team 2 was played on a bitterly cold day amidst snowy conditions on the frozen tundra of the Academy Field. Still, this did not prevent the teams from putting on a great display. Russell H. put Team 1 up one score with a short touchdown pass. Team 2, in a last ditch effort, got to within 3 yards of the end zone but a last pass from Dorian L-R fell short and The Championship Game was over.

Congrats to Team 2: Russell, Ray, Jay, Rachael, Luke, Alex A-C, Josh B, and Miss Edmonds on a well-deserved championship! The season ended with a pizza party and a viewing of the semi-finals and final game on video.

Other players involved were Abdallah, Dorian, Rupert, Holden, Jackson, Mr. Mooney, Deaaron, Kody, Zander, Alex C., Jamie, Andreu, Ian, Henrique, Kody, and Mr. Sharland.

We are all looking forward to February for some more football action at lunch!
