Chisholm Welcomes World Renowned Robotics Team from Hamilton

In preparation for our new S.T.E.M course offerings, starting next year, Chisholm Academy welcomed Team 2056 from Orchard Park Secondary School for a Robotics demonstration on November 20th, 2017. The team, who competed in the 2017 Robotics World Championships in St. Louis and earned a second place finish, showcased their latest Robotics creation to Chisholm student body.

They demonstrated their robot’s impressive skills as it completed a series of tasks including shooting balls into a basket and gathering up balls from the gym floor. Students also watched video of Team 2056 competing across Ontario.

After the demonstration and a discussion featuring the importance of  STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) courses in high school, the grade 9 and 10 students spent the afternoon building their own robots with the team. A big thank you goes out to Team 2056 and their teacher for sharing their expertise with Chisholm Students and for engaging our students in STEM learning.
